About the event
Rope can feel intimidating with so many knots, ties, and techniques to remember—but connection doesn’t have to be complicated. Join Francesca (vitanyroyale) for an evening exploring Ichinawa Practices—the art of using a single rope to create intentional, connective scenes. This class expands on the creative challenge of working within purposeful limitation, focusing on self-tying or tying with a partner through single-column techniques, light exposure, and the dynamics of closeness and distance. We’ll also discuss safety measures, emotional tension, and aftercare practices to support both partners.
Materials Needed: 1 hank of rope, safety shears.
Skills Needed: Knowing a single-column tie before class is recommended but not required.
All classes include a brief history of rope, general safety guidance, and an optional introduction circle where attendees may share their intention for the day.
